Our Oriental Rug Washing Process

Oriental rugs are hand-knotted rugs made in Asia. With decades of training and experience, we’ve honed our rug cleaning process to a fine art, including investing in the best cleaning equipment on the market. We first inspect the rug.

We color test the rug to make sure the color does not run.

Dust
We dust the rug with rug dusters.

Wash
We wet the rug on our wash floor and scrub and wash both sides.

Rinse
We thoroughly rinse the rug to make sure no residue remains in the rug.

Spin
We place the rug in the centrifuge and spin it. We rinse and spin again. It emerges 90% dry.

Inspection
We hang the rug on a drying rack and inspect it.

Touch-up
We do touch-up work and clean the fringe.

Evaluate
If the rug smells bad or looks substandard, we repeat the entire process again.

Repackage
We prepare the rugs for transport. We wrap the rug in brown paper and ready it for transport back to the owner.
